A Farm-Like Setting
Wild Olive Hobby Farm sits on 1.1 acres, giving you a little more space and a little more nature while still keeping you close to Tacoma.
We're not a large working farm—and we don't want to pretend to be one. Instead, Wild Olive offers a farm-like setting that's home to our Nigerian Dwarf goats, chickens, and plenty of visiting wildlife.
You may hear the chickens in the morning, see the goats enjoying the yard, spot a rabbit passing through, or simply enjoy sitting on the patio and taking in the surroundings.

Meet Olive & Pecan
Our two Nigerian Dwarf goats, Olive and Pecan, are a big part of life at Wild Olive—and they each have very different personalities.
Olive
Olive tends to be the more independent of the two. She can be a little aloof, but she loves meeting people. She's not convinced that accepting treats from people is worth her time.
Pecan
Pecan is usually much more interested in what's going on. She's more likely to come over, interact with you, and happily eat treats from your hand.
Guests are welcome to enjoy the goats during their stay, and we'll provide guidance on how to safely interact with and feed them.

The Chickens
The chickens have their own area on the property, and you may see and hear them during your stay. Guests can also feed the chickens, giving kids—and plenty of adults—a chance to experience a little bit of farm life while they're here.
And don't worry about being awakened by a rooster: we don't have one.

A Home for Local Wildlife
Wild Olive is also a WDFW-certified Habitat at Home, reflecting our efforts to provide a welcoming habitat for local wildlife.
Keep an eye out and you might spot a variety of birds—including hawks and eagles—as well as squirrels, rabbits, raccoons, and other wildlife that pass through the property.
Every visit can be a little different. You might sit outside with your morning coffee and watch the birds, catch a glimpse of a rabbit in the yard, or see a hawk passing overhead.
Enjoy the Outdoors
Relax on the patio, let the kids enjoy the large playset, visit the animals, or spend some time enjoying the yard and surrounding trees. It's not meant to be another attraction on your itinerary. Sometimes it's simply nice to have a little outdoor space to enjoy between everything else you came to Tacoma to do.

A Different Side of Tacoma
You can spend the day exploring Tacoma's waterfront, museums, restaurants and attractions—and then come back to the goats, chickens, trees and a quieter place to end the day.
Sit on the patio as the sun goes down, listen to the birds, and see what happens to wander through the yard.
You're close to Tacoma, but there's still room for nature to find you.
